Thank You Volunteers!

We Love Our Volunteers!!
April was Volunteer appreciation month; Julia’s celebrated by recognizing the volunteers who made the greatest contributions to our organization during 2024. Honorees were measured on the number of service hours, and their overall commitment and contribution to our mission. All volunteers and their families were invited to this year’s annual event. We shared a meal, and the honorees were recognized with gift cards.
Honorees:

Ana – Translator who is always available

Richard – MA, Scribe, Trainer & Equipment Maintenance

Kenaz – MA, Scribe, Trainer, 116 hours

Alicia – Translator, 130 hours

Kim, PA and Jhonnatan, PA – volunteer 3 nights each month, 140 hours

Wendy – Front Desk, 257 hours

Barbara, RN – Volunteer Coordinator 250 hours

Kathi, ENP-BC, and Ken, IT – Women’s Health and Chart Audit, 348 hours
Jordy, who went over and above the call of duty contributed over 500 service hours, received the Volunteer of the Year Service Award in the form of a Scholarship with which to continue his education. We are truly fortunate to have wonderful volunteers who freely give their time and talent to the clinic and to the community. Without them we would be unable to keep the doors open. Thank You! Thank You!

Julia’s Center Earned CANDID Platinum Seal of Transperency
We earned a 2025 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency! Keep up with our work in the community using the link below:
A Generous Young Donor’s Birthday Celebration
In celebration of his birthday, Meet Pithadia has been using his birthday money in a truly meaningful way for the last 3 years. Each year he buys and donates much needed blood glucose testing meters and strips for the diabetic patients who come to Julia’s Center for Healthcare.
This generous gift not only honors his special day but also brings critical help to those in need of diabetic supplies. For many of the uninsured or underinsured individuals we serve, access to essential supplies like glucose meters and test strips is critical. His donation directly supports their health and empowers them to manage their condition. Providing these supplies, not only helps the patient, but it saves money that the clinic would ordinarily spend to purchase them.
We are so grateful for this thoughtful gesture inspired by the compassion shown at such a young age. Thank you to Meet and his family for making Julia’s Center part of his 10th birthday celebration and for investing in the health of our community!
Birthday Donations from a Caring Nurse
Kathi Branch has been a dedicated volunteer and supporter of the clinic for 20 years. She’s served in many capacities from Nurse, Provider, Board member, and Advisor. Although, some health problems have required her to take a medical leave of absence, she is still making a valuable contribution.
Recently she celebrated a birthday, and she asked her family and friends to donate their gifts for her to Julia’s Center. Consider the impact on the clinic if every volunteer did this for birthdays, or important events.
Many Thanks Kathi for your continued love and support. We miss you and look forward to when you are well enough to come back to us.
Annual Report 2024
Dear Friends,
2024 was an amazing year for Julia’s Center, and we are extremely grateful to our donors and volunteers who made it possible. A few of the highlights are listed below: In 2024, 100 dedicated volunteers provided 7,419 volunteer hours. The Board of Directors approved a move to a 600 square foot larger space with a better layout and more exam rooms. The new space is 3 doors down from our original space in the strip center. Volunteers provided 800 hours of service to renovate the space, and we moved in September. The larger space enables us to schedule more providers and see more patients. We added 5 MDs, and 1 NP to accommodate the increased demand for our services. For instance, in 2024, we had 1,487 patient visits compared to 1,057 in 2023. During the winter break we also updated our communication system to reach out to our patients better and more easily.
I’m very happy to report that we were approved for the fifth consecutive year for our Gold Seal from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC).Looking forward, our goals are to continue to expand our services. We have a substantial percentage of diabetics, many of whom have complications such as obesity, hypertension, and elevated LDL levels. Diabetes exasperates these conditions and puts them at risk for worsening health issues. We will continue to take a holistic approach to their medical care. This will include the addition of regular support group meetings, enhanced education, a Podiatrist to work with the existing foot care nurse specialist, and hopefully the provision of constant glucose monitoring devices to improve blood sugar management.
In summary, as you review our progress, please understand that we are not done yet, and we need your continued support through prayer, volunteering, and donations. Thank you for all that you have done and will do in the future for the clinic and our patients.
Sincerely,
Jim Fini
President of the Board of Directors

Greetings from the editor!
Happy Spring! Is it any wonder that spring is a favorite season for many of us? At every turn there is a sense of the new, of rebirth. We see the trees gloriously blooming and the flowers popping from a seed that was hidden in darkness just a short while ago. The smells point to a certain freshness (consider the scent of the air after an April shower). The sounds of birds chirping with uncontained enthusiasm bring an irrepressible smile. Even the sun that warms our skin has a different “feel”.
It is this sense of rebirth, of growth and of potential transformation that inspires me with hope. Nature knows this creative cycle-and leans into it naturally. Why shouldn’t we?
So, whether it is the anticipation of new experiences, new relationships, or new attitudes, may your spring be one that is filled with hope. ~TMJ (more…)
