Dear Friends,
2024 was an amazing year for Julia’s Center, and we are extremely grateful to our donors and volunteers who made it possible. A few of the highlights are listed below: In 2024, 100 dedicated volunteers provided 7,419 volunteer hours. The Board of Directors approved a move to a 600 square foot larger space with a better layout and more exam rooms. The new space is 3 doors down from our original space in the strip center. Volunteers provided 800 hours of service to renovate the space, and we moved in September. The larger space enables us to schedule more providers and see more patients. We added 5 MDs, and 1 NP to accommodate the increased demand for our services. For instance, in 2024, we had 1,487 patient visits compared to 1,057 in 2023. During the winter break we also updated our communication system to reach out to our patients better and more easily.
I’m very happy to report that we were approved for the fifth consecutive year for our Gold Seal from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC).Looking forward, our goals are to continue to expand our services. We have a substantial percentage of diabetics, many of whom have complications such as obesity, hypertension, and elevated LDL levels. Diabetes exasperates these conditions and puts them at risk for worsening health issues. We will continue to take a holistic approach to their medical care. This will include the addition of regular support group meetings, enhanced education, a Podiatrist to work with the existing foot care nurse specialist, and hopefully the provision of constant glucose monitoring devices to improve blood sugar management.
In summary, as you review our progress, please understand that we are not done yet, and we need your continued support through prayer, volunteering, and donations. Thank you for all that you have done and will do in the future for the clinic and our patients.
Sincerely,
Jim Fini

Motto: “Love thy neighbor as thyself” Mark 12:31.
ABOUT US
Julia’s Center is a product of inspiration, and dedication of Julia Grenier who gave the better part of her life to serve her neighbors in Collin County. She served tirelessly through some very difficult times, and because of her, many Plano residents are still able to get the care they need regardless of their ability to pay. Julia’s Center for Healthcare was created to honor Julia, and to continue the work that she started. Therefore, it is only fitting and right that the clinic should bear her name. Julia’s Center for Healthcare opened in February 2016.
God commanded us to “Love our neighbor as ourselves” and that became the Center’s motto. Its mission is to share God’s love and light with all those who enter Julia’s Center.
“The mission and sole purpose of the Center is to reflect God’s love by providing quality healthcare, education and advocacy with dignity and compassion to the residents of Collin County who are uninsured or underserved.”
Julia’s Center for Healthcare is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization serving the indigent & uninsured population of Collin County. We provide basic medical care for patients with non-emergent chronic medical conditions.
The clinic opens twice a week from 5-9pm. On any given night, the Center staffs approximately 15 volunteers; 3-4 licensed medical providers, 2-3 nurses or medical assistants, 4-5 translators, 1 prayer minister, 1 diabetic educator, and 3-4 administrative volunteers each week. During each clinic night, the providers treat an average of 20 adult patients.
Patients are seen by appointment only. There is never a charge for any clinic service, however, patients may be asked for a donation, to offset the costs of required lab, supplies or other services.

PATIENT TESTIMONY
Hi, I’m Sandra. I am a patient at Julia’s Center. I’ve been here for approximately 5 years. I met a lady at work and was talking to her. Her name is Violeta, and we became good friends. She told me about the Julia’s Center, and I started going to the clinic. I’m a diabetic and when I started, my A1C was 13.5. With the work of Dr Duvvuri, Ms. Barbara, Stephanie, and everyone there coaching and guiding me with what I should and shouldn’t eat, I’ve gotten my A1C down to 7.3 today. I didn’t know what I was going to do at first, I had no insurance and had a lot on my plate. My blood pressure and my diabetes were out of control, and I just needed some guidance. At the Julia’s Center, you will get that guidance. So come on in and join us.
