SHINING A LIGHT ON THE PEOPLE AND CAUSES THAT INSPIRE US TO SERVE.
“National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, to build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world. It takes place every April during Global Volunteer Month.
Each year, we shine a light on the people and causes that inspire us to serve, recognizing and thanking volunteers who lend their time, talent and voice to make a difference in their communities.”
“WE CAN FIND MEANING AND REWARD BY SERVING SOME HIGHER PURPOSE THAN OURSELVES, A SHINING PURPOSE, THE ILLUMINATION OF A THOUSAND POINTS OF LIGHT… WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE. ” — PRESIDENT GEORGE H.W. BUSH, FOUNDER OF POINTS OF LIGHT
Julia’s Center for Healthcare has 5 exceptional volunteers who are receiving THE PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD for their many hours of volunteering during 2022.
One volunteer is being recognized at the Gold Level of volunteering for 516 hours of documented service, one is being recognized at the Silver Level for 288 for documented service, and three are recognized at the Bronze Level for 100+ hours of documented service.
Led by the AmeriCorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light, The President’s Volunteer Service Award program is presented in recognition and appreciation for the volunteers’ commitment to strengthen our nation and communities through volunteer service.
For these volunteers and all the volunteers, Julia’s Center for Healthcare’s Board is grateful for the volunteer’s dedication to the clinic’s mission…To reflect God’s love by providing quality healthcare, education, and advocacy with dignity and compassion to the residents of Collin County who are uninsured or underserved.
